Future Scheduling

Lineholder

The trips available from the A/I List will come from:

  • Time which falls out of a Reserve line due to vacation, sick, training or any time dropped by a Lineholder throughout the month.

  • Reserve Holding Open Time (RHOT) — Time which appears in a Regular Reserve line.

  • RHOT trips will be available for Lineholder bidding during the A/I list process two days in advance and throughout the Future Reserve Assignment List Processing (FRALP).

Reserve

Creating Reserve "V" Day

During Lineholder A/I List processing, a Reserve Vacancy Designation ("V" day) will be created when a Lineholder is awarded Reserve Holding Open Time (RHOT) by taking the open time out of a Reserve line. A "V" designation is created only during the A/I process when a Lineholder removes a trip from a Reserve line.

Reserve Future Scheduling

  • One day prior to trip origination, Reserve pilots will be awarded/assigned Future trips during Future Reserve Assignment List Processing (FRALP).

  • After Reserve processing, Daily Scheduling will assume responsibility for trip award/assignment.

  • Reserve pilots with a trip in their line (RHOT), "V" Vacancy Designation , "R" Regular Reserve or "S" Short-Call Reserve will participate in Future Reserve Assignment List Processing for their trip award.

  • During Future Reserve Assignment List Processing (FRALP), Reserve pilots will be grouped by category based on the designation they hold and arranged within category by seniority for trip bidding and award. The first category (see top of next page) will have the opportunity to bid for future trips in seniority order. Remaining trips will then fall to the second category to be bid on in seniority order. Any trips remaining will fall into the third category and be processed in seniority order.

Note: A trip can be removed from a RHOT line at any point commencing when the Lineholder A/I list is processed (48 hours in advance) up until the RHOT pilot is awarded the trip during FRALP. However, a more senior Reserve cannot take a trip from an RHOT.

Category 1: Reserve Holding Open Time or "V" Designation

  • Reserve pilot holding Reserve Open Time may trip improve when an overlapping match exists (see Examples 1 & 2).

  • Reserve pilots may trip improve to fly an equal number or more days, but not less. A Reserve pilot who is awarded a trip that conflicts with trip already in his Reserve line shall fly the awarded trip and shall have the "V" designation placed on the days in his line that were originally occupied by a trip (see Examples 3, 4, & 5).

  • Awards will be made in seniority order within this category (as with all categories).

  • Pilot with "V" Designation and Reserve pilots with RHOT will select trip in seniority order.

  • Trips cannot be passed out of category. For example, RHOT can pass to another "V" but not to a "R" or "S" pilot.

Overlapping match exists for trip improvement

No match - cannot trip improve

Passing with Future — "V" Day Pilot (An RHOT pilot may not pass.)

  • Passing is not permitted if it would bump another Reserve pilot from his/her RHOT trip (see Example 6).

  • Passing not permitted if it would create an additional split (see Example 7).

  • Passing is not permitted if an available junior pilot has greater than 10 pay hours more than the pilot desiring to pass.
Reserve pilot A cannot pass trip 53001 be-cause it would bump Reserve pilot B off trip 53128 due to legality

Pilots A and B are only "V" Reserves available.

Reserve pilot A given the flexibility to pass 53138 because the 53138 would have to be split by either pilot. (Duty Rest conflict with 53046

Category 2: Regular Reserve ("R" day)

  • Reserve pilot on Regular Duty day will select trip in seniority order within this category.

  • Passing is permitted only within category. For example, an "R" Reserve may pass to another "R" Reserve, but not to an "S" Reserve.

  • Passing is not permitted if it would cause an additional split or to an available junior pilot who has greater than 10 pay hours more than the pilot desiring to pass. Splitting is permitted if available junior pilots would also have to split trip (see Examples 8 and 9).

Pilot A to Pilot B can pass since available
    junior pilots have to split

Category 3: Short Call Reserve ("S" day)

  • In the event that trips remain open after processing the first two Reserve categories, "S" Reserves will be awarded trip in seniority order within this category.

Note: Because trips cannot be passed out of Category 1 or 2, this situation would exist only after all other Reserve pilots are depleted by Future Scheduling.

Passing — "S" Reserve

  • "S" Reserve may only pass with Future Scheduling.

  • An "S" Reserve on an "S" day may only pass to a junior "S" Reserve.

  • Passing is not permitted if it would cause an additional split or if an available junior pilot has greater than 10 pay hours more than the pilot desiring to pass. Splitting is permitted if available junior pilots would also have to split trip (see Examples 10 and 11).
    Pilot A to Pilot B
